I do think the very high promised/projected future spendings on entitlements is a problem, and possibly a major problem.

Medicare is a much more serious problem than SS, because of the obscene costs we pay for medical treatment.

In the end I think you will see government clamp down on medical costs... it will have to. National insurance or no. We just won't be able to afford twice the rate of the rest of the world.

Now THAT is unproductive spending... government or private.
