I smell politics, not intelligence gathering and assessment, at play. Unfortunately, there is no way for us, the great unwashed, to make any kind of reasonable assessment of the merits of any of these NIE's.

You too, hmm? There have been too many smoking guns found in the past for anyone to doubt that the Iran had/has a nuclear weapons program, whether or not it is current "halted". Perhaps "paused" would be a better word. I think somebody just wants to make sure Bush can't move, which only makes it more likely that the next president will have to.

Somewhat ironically, and against all CW, I believe that the next president with the greatest propensity to attack is Hillary. She will have what to prove concerning her toughness, and Bill's feckless record to live down. And no military experience to temper her judgement.
