"might you be overstating the shiaa crescent global threat case?"

No. The difference between us is that you are focused on one leader or another while trying to guess whether or not they could rise to weild power Ala Stalin and drive a force over the top of others toppling nations as they go. You interpret world affairs from the single perspective of the potential for nations to conquer nations.

I get that too but I am also looking at entities that have no concern for national identity or borders. I am more focused on the puzzle pieces that are falling into place, what purpose that could serve and if in place, what that would entail. A crescent of Shia power is superordinate to Ahmadenijad, the Iyatollas, Iran, other nations, or subgroupings. It is also a first step in a climb that most Shiites in the region would gladly endorse, especially if it could come together quietly and from the shadows, which is is. So, I think it is very real, just as I thought the Al-Mahdi Army would be a major future issue a few years ago when even military contractors were telling me it was kaput. It now rivals the Iraqi Army and continues to grow in multiples. Coming soon to a World theater see 'The Shia Crescent'.

It's coming. Whether it comes as another world power in the global economy, as one among us or as a threat depends on all of us.

Also coming is the center of Sunni world power beginning and spreading from the frontiers of Pakistan/Afghanistan.
