No way to fully interdict from the air. Secondly... have you never heard the term "Phyrric Victory"? We never lost a single set-piece battle, but all that was irrelevant in the face of nationalism and anti-colonialism --- the dominant global political motifs of the century. (And with resupply from the Soviet Union and from China off-limits... please....)
