It's impossible to prove a negative. But I would be surprised if the agencies came out with something this politically explosive if they were not damn sure. They shot their boss in the foot.

The timing also coincides with Khans network breaking down. Despite the rhetoric, building a nuke is very, very difficult and very, very expensive. Bush keeps mentioning that we don't want them to have the "knowledge" to build a nuke. That probably means they don't.

Am I 100% sure it's true? No. Am I 100% sure that any other non nuke club country is farther along? No.

Remember the reports that Iran wanted to engage with the US on a broad basis with the US but was rejected? About the same time frame when they shut down the nuke program. Coincidence?

Maybe it's time to engage Iran... figure out what we have in common rather than focus on our differences. Who knows what might come of that.
