Saudi Arabia begins pumping light crude from Haradh oil field
08-02-06 Saudi Arabia began pumping light crude oil from the Haradh oil field ahead of schedule, state oil company Saudi Aramco said.
The company said output is expected to be 300,000 bpd of crude oil and 140 mm cfpd of natural gas in the second quarter.

Saudi Aramco said oil began flowing through a gas/oil separation plant at the southern end of Ghawar, the world's biggest oil field, just 21 months after approval of funding and ahead of schedule.
Saudi Aramco said 520,000 bpd of treated seawater will be injected into the field each day to maintain reservoir pressure.

The project is part of Saudi Arabia's expansion of its production capacity to 12.5 mm bpd by 2009.
Saudi Oil Minister Ali Naimi said in January that with the addition of Haradh, output capacity would be 11.3 mm bpd in April.
