I agree.
But what we are faced with is an out of control situation with weapons and crime and some people react, as always, with extreme responses.

When does trying to control the existing factors that feed into the problem start infringing on the right? Is there some medium ground that is acceptable to both sides?
Should the number or type be limited?
Should licenses, background checks, etc? be required?
Should people be allowed to carry concealed?
How do you control the "bad" guys without punishing the lawabiders- (something I see as almost impossible).

I don't own a gun. My father did and my brother does- mostly for hunting. (hey, we are from the Blue Ridge). I learned to shoot, but have never felt the need to own one.
But if I wanted one, I don't want to be told I have lost the right to get one.
