I think you're estimate for the settlement sounds reasonable. $5 million for this little company would really be significant, especially if used wisely.
Yes, they should continue to fund exploitation of their IP portfolio, including the low-hanging fruit associated with the Autotrader patents (there are two in question). I would think that competitors of Autotrader's would be good targets to begin with.
I have been encouraged though by the last two press releases regarding the core business. It would be great to get that cash flow positive so any cash from the lawsuit could be used for stock buybacks or dividends, after legal expenses for future litigation.
Hope to see a press release soon that at least confirms the settlement, and ideally letting us know the $ amount.
After that, the catalysts for the stock will be what they do with the cash, and future lawsuits on the Autotrader patent as well as other patents.
