Utterly wrong, I'm afraid. Actually, Havoc and the wanton destruction of assets --buildings, cars, shopping malls, power plants, etc, INCREASE the GDP for the simple reason that hundreds of enterprises, thousands of workers will be summoned to repair the damages and put the wrecked economy back on track... Take Hurricane Katrina, for example: New Orleans' GDP greatly benefited from the devastation: hundreds of millions of dollars were poured into the community to clean up the mess....
