Your story reminds me of a time my husband and I were out on the Olympic Peninsula.....just going for a drive. There was an "Open House" sign next to a long driveway that led down to some Puget Sound waterfront. On a lark we decided to go and take a look. The property was lovely and the view was really nice. The house on the other hand was old and pretty run down. It was empty, but whoever was trying to sell it had applied what looked like another, of many, layer of paint to the walls, had the carpets cleaned, polished the wood floor in the dining room etc...

There was a petite realtor lady in the kitchen handing out flyers, as well as a few other looky loos wandering around. We headed for the upper floor to take a look at the bedrooms, and at the top of the stairs an overwhelming feeling of happy children wearing those long, white gowns children used to wear to bed having a pillow fight in the room directly ahead of us overcame me. Don't ask me why............it was like I was looking into a window to the past.

My big mistake was mentioning it to that poor Realtor lady that had to stay there, alone at times, until the end of the open house. I should not have mentioned what I felt at the top of those stairs to her..........it probably scared the heck out of her.
