Jim Puplava of financialsense.com has said that if the Fed cuts this month and continues to cut through the next year, we can expect the Dow to cross 15000 as early as this year and then later in 2008, head towards 17000 or 18000.

Now, does Puplava think that the accounting numbers and the Fed numbers are all bogus? Sure. He has explicitly said so. Does he think what's happening with the stock markets is healthy? Of course not.

But what we want from people who claim to be experts is to tell us what they think is going to happen, not what they think should happen. We all know that the markets deserve to be at much lower levels because of.... blah blah blah... but that doesn't buy us anything. In fact, we could end up making stupid mistakes because of our stubborn beliefs. I would rather make money than be right!
