JF, I don't trust Chavez when he says he accepted the results with "grace." That's about as genuine as his concern for the poor Americans in New England. He's likely coming up with new schemes to sell his brand of extreme socialism, all of which place him in charge for life.

If anyone needs to be saluted, it should be the voters of Venezuela who rejected Chavez' power grab, not Chavez himself. Which Roger Cohen does at the end of his editorial, but he then suggests that Americans can learn from Venezuelans.

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure Americans are smarter than that. Too bad most of our politicians don't think so.
