Gold Fields of South Africa Ltd. and Gencor Ltd. said Friday that they plan to create the world's largest single gold producer by merging their gold operations. Gold Fields (GLDFY) said the new company, Goldco, will boast annual gold production of 4.0 million ounces and reserves of 120 million ounces. The companies to be merged include Kloof Gold Mining Ltd. (KLOFY), Driefontein Consolidated Ltd. (DRFNY), Gold Fields Ghana Ltd.'s Tarkwa project, Beatrix Gold Mines Ltd., Oryx Gold Holdings Ltd., Evander Gold Mines Ltd. (EGMVY) and St. Helena
Gold Mines Ltd. (SGOLY).
