Brooke, I partially agree with you. I am not up much on alternative medicine, but I do avoid the doctor's office as much as possible. With the exception of one visit I already knew what was wrong before I went to the office, the only reason I go is to get a prescription. The only time I did not know what I had, the doctor and the specialist did not know either. Neither one asked a relevent question. I once had occasion to visit a doctor's house. He apologised because his wife could not meet me. She was very ill in bed and he did not know what she had. I asked him to describe the symptoms to me, I asked him what she had been doing lately. Visiting a village in Central America. I told him that she had dengue and that she would be better in two weeks. My neighbour's wife was ill, she visited a number of doctors in our large home town, no luck. Tried the same in a major city, no luck. Took her to Hong Kong. Cured. Dont' get out of QDEL because they are not in the home market. They are moving in the correct direction. I hope we see the day, when I can switch on my computer, click on a site, answer a few questions, stick my index finger in a hole in the front of my computer and the computer describes to me the best course of treatment and the location of the nearest pharmacy or alternative medicine store. You will notice that recently QDEL signed up for a project investigating a diagnostic chip. The greatest impediment to the above will be the AMA, a self-serving bunch, if I ever saw one. By the way when Robert Busse dances without his diaper on, you don't have to watch. |
