Your notion that the seller controls the price ignores the laws of supply and demand, at a minimum. That's why I call it an alternate universe.

The seller sets his price and doesn't have to sell below that. He is in control of the price. The buyer can make offers, but ultimately he doesn't control the price.

You are right about the universe thing. Have you ever bought anything?
