After the bad advice God gave Bush II (the revenge), I'd like to see God stay out of politics until he gets his act together.
Now, on to the fun freaky stuff.
I can't imagine why people would take their kids to the wilder SF entertainments- but then I also think the parents who sent their kids to "Jesus Camp" were nuts too. Luckily none of those parents are "mainstream". Part of the beauty of America is you are free to be as freaky as you want to be- you can hate gays or blacks or Jews, or you can keep your kids out of public school and raise them in as strict and segregated an environment as you want, you can even be in a cult with your kids, as long as you don't sexually molest them, or on the other hand, you can go out to erotic festivities in SF. What a country.
Most people, gay and straight, just sit back and shake their heads at the freakier elements. And some people who (imo) aren't very smart and/or educated generalize and think everyone in a group they hate is just like the freakiest elements. Just as most Christians aren't hanging out at Planned Parenthood clinics screaming at patients, most folks in SF don't attend the erotic parties and festivals. I hate to harsh the buzz of the ignorant, but most of SF is pretty tasteful. However, I wouldn't mind some of the tourists getting the erroneous idea that SF is sin city, because they maybe the city would be a little less crowded in the summer. So people- STAY AWAY- it's sin city baby. It's not for you :-) |
