Interesting information, thanks.
My average breathing per minute sitting is about four reps, and usually my heart rate is @60bpm. But if I raise my heart rate, my bp reading is lower. If I settle in on breathing, one and a half cycles per minute is not difficult, but in the end, the breathing rate doesn't lower my bp either. I feel relaxed, but what am I accomplishing in the long run, if it doesn't drop the bp? I am at the point that I can't look at the display while the bp is being calculated, because I want a more honest reading. Somehow knowing when to breathe shallow vs when to breathe more aggressively changes the bp reading.

It is interesting what we can control and what we cannot, and I know playing games with my bp machine doesn't solve my bp level. The biofeedback effect might be worth something though.

I know I need to exercise more and eat better. The youthful body is more forgiving because there are deep reserves. As we get older those reserves don't run as deep, and we feel things more quickly. Energy breathing like breathing sunlight prana does have long term casual effects, and I've been testing that this whole year. It is something we don't normally get in our diet. Sunlight on the body is not as dramatic as breathing the sunlight for the purpose of energizing the blood through energizing the breath.

I just thought I'd toss this into the list of possible additions to daily disciplines which have long term benefits, even if they are more in the background. Anything extra helps, especially if its free except for labor of addressing it as you breathe.
