I would argue that most people don't adopt because of deep-seated biological reasons that make us hesitant to spend resources on someone else's gene

true as well, but logically you are sort of putting the cart before the horse, the horse being hetero couples are ABLE to have children, therefore the NEED to adopt isn't there

there is a STRONG desire with infertile hetero couples to adopt (and as you said, lesbians have higher adoption rates, the reasons should be obvious)
