They are an unreliable guide in any election. They push to chose the winner as early as possible. Often, like now, well before the first vote is even cast.

Very true. But as the politicians know, winning the first few primaries gives them God like status. They get on the front page and the other guys are relegated to page 12. Everybody loves a winner (New England Patriots?). How many want to vote for a loser (Miami Dolphins?).

So this could be over in about 40 days. Would love a deadlocked convention... now that's entertainment!
