Evil bastards eh ... ever read any O. Henry? ... wrote most of his stories a little over a hundred years ago now, many of them are set in little banana fiefdoms [you could hardly call them republics, though their owners tried to use the title at times]

They're right up there with Bush and Abrams and Negroponte and Stalin and Saddam and Hitler and Robert Pickton ... in more ways than you might first expect -
