Richard North Patterson. I just finished his latest, "The Race" about the primary race of a candidate for President on the Republican ticket. Patterson is the best-selling author of about 13 legal thrillers over the last 27 years. Almost all of them feature a San Francisco based lawyer. I have read everything he has written. This latest one uses a John McCain type candidate to explore the ramifications of running for office today. Very well done, with some excellent plot twists. Patterson is a damn good storyteller.
