I guess I don't see the weakness you see in these backlog (NOT "order") numbers. To me it looks more like the 6/96 number was unusually high, and a "normal" backlog in recent times is $280-380 Million. Don't forget that improved execution can decrease backlog. The competition has been around for some time. Please point me to some figures on telco spending that show them dropping. JMHO, as always.
