I was a bit skeptical at first, since your link referred to a cockroach citing some guy named "Consolmagno."
But he's real - a Jesuit, no less:
clavius.as.arizona.edu

Now, I'd like to run this by him. Every day, we are hearing of new discoveries of extrasolar planets. Many of these are terrestrial type, small rocky planets, some of which might well be compatible with life as we know it. This is a big universe, and there may well be what we might consider intelligent forms of life on some of them.
Are these lifeforms in need of redemption? Is it earthlings' responsibility to proselytize and convert these creatures, or did/will God the Father send God the Son to make the rounds and redeem all of these life forms planet by planet? Will any of those life forms find that they have a responsibility to convert our planet to the true faith? Are there any planets where the original sapient creature did not fall for the temptation of Original Sin and therefore not need redemption? If, in the far distant future, we encounter them, will they withstand our corruptive influence? Or will they be so disgusted with us that they will blow us away? And would that be their Original Sin?
