Clearly Gore is crazy and he'll be proven wrong just as the ice age 70's people were. That said we still have to do R&D into renewable, cleaner energy. We'd be stupid not to. Think about oil prices in the 90's - we saw 11-15 dollar per barrel oil. What we've got now is 8-9 times the drag on the economy. We've got to find a better way and when we do it will pay HUGE dividends! It would also focus the country on a goal at a time when we NEED to have a clear mission. The bitch is I don't see a Ronald Reagan candidate that can unite this fractured mess we have. We were fractured in the late 70's too and he pieced us back together. It can happen again but we need the right person and we need a VISION - A Mission! Defeating the evil empire was our goal under Reagan and it worked - we worked as a unified society! Even people who opposed Reagan's ideology voted with him on many issues. Thats what I mean by capturing the American people with a mission - it will work but not with the group of candidates I see now.
