Earthworks Industries Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to report that its U.S subsidiary, Cortina Integrated Waste Management Inc. ("CIWM") has commenced the drilling of ground water monitoring wells for its Cortina landfill project. The commencement of the drilling follows the receipt of the final approval of the water monitoring plan.

The 5 pairs of monitoring wells will be equipped for monitoring the first landfill cell, establishing baselines for the groundwater and for ongoing leachate detection once operations begin at the project facility. Drilling is expected to be completed by January 2008.

Commenting on this information Mr. David Atkinson, President of the Company and CIWM, said “This is a major step for us as it represents the first real on-site improvements leading to the construction and operation of the landfill project; it is truly an exciting day for us”.

Cortina Landfill Company, which is managing the development of the landfill project on behalf of CIWM, has reported that it is continuing to meet its schedule on the Project and is on track to meet the projected Fall 2008 commencement of operations.
