Many years ago, they did the 1 ghz repeater. That is good for QAM service on HFC(copper coax cables).

All telephone companies use 150 mhz repeaters, which are not good for multi channel QAM services.

Hopefully, my Cablevision copper wired system will be easily changed to QAM service. RCN had repeater in the attic for coax cables. That repeater also may have to be changed to 1 ghz.

Infrastructure of cable will be big business when QAM rolls out. Repeaters are still cheaper than $40 billion(Verizon) plus $40 billion(AT&T fiber cost too), to change copper to fiber optics which also needs laser repeaters. So, hybrid feeder with fiber then copper is still best approach?
