As Intel earnings fever overheats the Thread, I want to add
my 2 cents. :^)

Intel's Q3 earnings number on Tuesday doesn't matter
(except for very short term players.) Today's market performance
demonstrates that a significant underlying bid still exists for this
market--even with another point off the bonds and despite a
bearish Fed Chairman.

Anyone who bails out of Intel Wednesday will be selling into seriously
strong long-term hands, including Intel's own stock repurchase
program. The 6 mo. to 10 year outlook for Intel is just too compelling.

Consider (1) the increasingly clear roadmap and Intel's effective
implementation; (2) the disarray of Intel's "competition"; (3) worldwide sales growth especially China and the Internet;
(4) corporate revamping and upgrading of existing networks to
400 MHz machines and later Merced; (5) a 23 PE; (6) etc.,etc.etc..

I can not even think of a rational reason why I would sell Intel next
week, next month or next year. But I will add more along the way
and especially if the price drops on Wednesday. Tuesday's numbers are nothing more than a fillip or a pothole on a very successful corporate journey. My portfolio will be part of that for the foreseeable future. Tuesday's number is meaningless.

Good long term investing all.
