The issue was lowest in the world. The list that is lower would be long.

Even lowest among rich countries would not require naming three only one to prove my point.

But what the total taxes are is hard to calculate precisely. You have regular income tax, with different rates and different deductions and credits, you have corporate income tax (which is HIGHER in the US than in most rich countries, you have payroll taxes (which are big in the US, and in some other rich countries but not in all of them) you have state and local taxes (which varies a lot in the US, and which I have next to no information about for other countries, but they obviously vary a lot there as well).

And which Americans do you want to compare, look at the lowest taxed areas and Americans might not be taxed as much, but look at the owners of small corporations, or look at people in high tax areas like New York City and it might reverse. Not that New York would be the highest taxes area in the world, but someone making the top federal tax rate there, would when you add in the New York State and City taxes, pay a very high tax rate, probably half their income in taxes. In NYC your paying an additional 10% income tax, plus all the high sales and other taxes and government fees that the state and city impose. That's higher than the UK's top tax rate, and I'm sure its higher than the rate in several other wealthy countries.
