That and the CPI was very high. Looks like the good old days of stagflation if there is a recession... and that's what the smart money has been betting on. Also, think of all the credit card debt. If things start breaking bad and people start defaulting on their CC payments, then the banks are in a heap more trouble. With the dollar tanking on bad debt and so much of our consumption from imports, then inflation is assured. Things are getting very dicey and I don't see anyone riding in on a white horse to save the day...
