Yoga helped tremendously. My wife had more serious back problems than I had, and she is the one that got me started in it. By stretching and strengthening the back daily, I would now say my back is as good as new. I have no problems what so ever. Previously, I had to give up tennis for a while because of constant lower back pain that was more of a nuisance than seriously debilitating.

You need to give it a month or so to develop strength and achieve the benefits of stretching...but it does feel great.
It also takes time to be able to do some positions properly, and it is then that you realize the gain. I am not a yoga master by any means, but I have benefitted from the practice.
