The recession was cut short by cuts to taxes and interest rates. In hindsight the recession was a mild one, but so was the recession that cost Bush Sr. the election of 1992.

I do agree that Greenspan is "Easy Al." But that makes me wonder whether we place too much importance on guys like Greenspan and Bernanke.
