Maybe you could create a virtual private system and see how it works out before you inflict great pain in the real world.

What exactly are you talking about a computer simulation of a real system? It would have to be many orders of magnitude less complex than a real system, as a real system would involve people making their own decisions and sometimes trying to push their own agenda. Its next to impossible to realistically simulate the politics and economics of such a system.

But that's the great strength of the market. It doesn't impose a planned system, it allows for people to adjust and provides the incentives for them to do so in positive ways. If anything needed a "virtual system" to test it would be a planned system.
