"Truthfully, I never saw any evidence that Bush wasn't a good businessman."

Don't pay attention very well, do you?

The ironically named Arbusto(it cleverly means "bush" in Spanish) never managed to turn a profit, having never been able to drill a producing well. Yet, one of Daddy's friends, who owned Spectrum 7, bought them out. They also made Smirk president and CEO of Spectrum 7, despite his lack of stellar performance.

Well, to no one's great surprise, Spectrum 7 did the old nose dive. So Harken, owned by some more of Dad's friends, bought them out and put Shrub on the BOD. Oddly enough, Harken, who had no experience with offshore, was awarded an offshore contract in Bahrain. Which was in no related to the Saudi interests in the company.

However, when Gulf War 1 happened, things went sour. So, 1 week before Harken announced a huge loss, Smirk sold all his stock. To whom, it isn't known. Wouldn't be a huge surprise if it was another of Daddy's friends. They tended to show up with a wad of cash every time Dubya was heading for the rocks.

Naturally, Smirk "forgot" to file with the SEC...
