LIAR. The people McCarthy persecuted were not communists in the way the Soviet Union was, not at all, they were for peace and human rights. Nor were they sympathizers of that police state regime one bit. They simply wanted their rights and freedom of speech. McCarthy helped demonize the term "communist" even though the original communists coming out of the Great Depression were average Americans who wanted a fair shake and needed a helping hand. In fact you could say FDR was a communist because the entire New Deal was communistic and was the foundation of our great Middle Class.

The Great Depression btw was caused by Bushie type elitist GOP industrials and Wall Street tycoons who got way too greedy.
