"Bush appointed USA" ??? The special prosecutor was definitely on a political witchhunt. The issue being investigated was the reputed outing of Plame's employment to Novak. The prosecutor knew from the beginning of his investigation that the source of the leaked information was Richard Armitage. He nevertheless launched an investigation of administration personnnel determined to indict someone on something. Even though he couldn't indict anyone for the issue under investigation.
