Most Saudi Arabia citizens interviewed in a poll oppose terrorism and want closer ties with the United States.

Sure they oppose "terrorism". But you have to remember, the Saudi definition of terrorism is Al Qaeda blowing up Saudis in Saudi Arabia. If you widen terrorism to include attacks on infidels, then they are for it. They have to be. Their Wahabbi religion teaches them to be for attacks on infidels.

But many Saudis remain opposed to making peace with Israel

Naturally. Giving up jihad against the Jews is not an option.
