Joe,

I also called their IR dept. Apparently winter is not a problem. They've removed several tonnes of sapphire bearing material from site and will continue to extract sapphires during the winter, for heat treatment in California. Their gold placer operations is in Ecuador and operates year round.

I agree with you, 35 million shares seems like a lot. But over 12 million owned by insiders (good sign) with half that amount placed back into escrow. They claim a widespread distribution with over 6,000 registered shareholders. It looks tightly held, a mere 400,000 shares in volume doubled the price in August.

Not many of us following sapphires it seems.
