Americans won't vote for Socialists.... except they always do!

you've just called a spade a spade, and in so doing you've properly characterized the republicrats.

for you, the only thing left is understanding the missing information and that is the majority rejects the parties by non participation, consistently.

now there was other polling data in a follow on post, stating that congress is now at lowest ratings, lower than even Bush, so the assumption that even the voters still dont realize what they've voted for, is but an assumption, and that can be corrected over time.

Somehow, the political establishment takes its authority from implied consent. Which is again a huge assumption.

you know as well as i, that the 2008 campaign has been in motion for 1/2 year already.....despite near a billion or more dollars to be spent, these politicians will poll lower numbers than the last time, because they are being found out.

implied consent isn't any mandate when its framed alongside the data.

I find it ridiculous that so many can be so pure in their rigor about getting the numbers right across so many areas of the economy....and yet, the simple facts of the electorate, escape everyone routinely.

this is no accident, its well known fact that voter participation by the full electorate, destroys implied consent, which has become the cornerstone to republicrats masquerading their socialism which has emerged as outright hegemony..

PS here is the mid term senatorial count. properly framed against the electorate.
Drudge is reporting; Preliminary: Senate Ballots cast: 31,591,495 (D) 25,054,569 (R)... combined vote 56.6 million.

Despite the population going over 300 million for the first time ever. 83% of the population is eligible. 23% of eligible participated.

Compare this turnout to say 1994 when total votes cast for Senators was 57,716,000!

Result 12 years later voter turnout was 1.1 million less than 1994. Despite the solid population increase and the huge increase spending per vote cast.
