Our ability to provide anything better than handwaving for how evolution works on complex systems is far inferior to our climate science prowess.

I could argue about the relative knowledge in the two areas, but it would be besides the point. Our ability to predict the future developments in either areas is minimal at best.

If you want to present our ideas about evolution as solid, than fine. If you want to present them as very shaky and uncertain than I might disagree, but its also fine, make your argument. But what's not fine is to present them as so solid that anyone who disagrees should be taken seriously, and at the same time present them as shaky, each in turn when it suits the analogy you want to make.
