1992 was the most important election in the modern era. The US population stood at 255 million people at that time, today it is over 300 million. The election in 1992 demonstrated that the parties were extremely vulnerable to challenge by 3rd party movements.

In the 1992 election Bill Clinton defeated GBsr. Clinton got 44.9 million votes out of an electorate of 195.6 million possible voters. He won with under 23% of possible voters.

Yet he's cast as having won with 43%.

In 1992 Ross Perot ran the first real 3rd party platform and got 19.X million votes. That vote was made up of disaffected democrats, republicans, independents and approximately 4 % of the NVM who were motivated to come off the bench as a message to the parties.

The 1992 election was the first to push the voting population over 53% during the modern era. Before 92 and going way back into the 1930's the statistical voting population averaged under 48% of potential electorate.

Its always the missing information that bites. Few understand the electorate as a whole body politic.

Currently its expected that during the next election the major parties will spend over a billion dollars.....to what end? IMO the electorate will cast a NONE of The Above vote above 54% This projection is based on mid term participation slipping in the latest house and senate go round.

It wont matter to the winner, they'll crow about victory despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

The disconnect of the greater population with the large media outlets, is surprisingly clear. The grip on the OUTPUT organs of communications is rapidly showing that awareness of alternatives is mandatory, for larger segments of the population. This will generate consequences beyond the expected.

Will there be alternatives who posit the correct understanding in their message, about this disconnect with the whole body politic?

That is the rest of the story, and not predictable from where we currently sit.
