The Soviets perverted communism and turned it into a military dictatorship. So apples and oranges. I already told you that. Listen and learn. The communism which helped the Johnny Cash family survive the great depression was benign, christian and America at its best. And it was people who believed in THAT kind of beneficial communism that McCarthy persecuted. That's why McCarthy was so evil, wrong, un-christian and un-American and got exactly what he deserved in the end. In fact, I hope he's roasting in hell for all eternity. He was a true traitor. The real problem in this debate is thew rod "communism". It has gotten such a terrible rap for so many decades thanks to the selfish A-holes who exploited it to become military dictators that the word can never be seen as anything positive again. But during the Great Depression it was positive, as are our best-run social programs. We need them and the people want them. So leave them alone, rightwing. We know who you serve, the top 1% richest who don't want to share like good christians.
