Hi Tom,
Does such an all inclusive service platform exist today? I've havn't seen the ideal all in one system that is "ready for prime time". Also, how does a network operator provision plain old analog cable TV services over this all in one unified digital platform? Does it mean that every TV set in the house needs a digital settop box? At over $300 apiece, that gets more expensive than the rest of the network outside. Or worse, does it mean that an HFC overlay is used for analog video? I hope not. For now, I would prefer an all passive HFC 100 home mini node architecture (no coax distribution amplifiers) rather than a complex dual overlay network. I would be very interested in an all inclusive digital network at under $1K per home.
