Let's just be honest here. Both X2 and K56Flex suck, period. All this hype surrounding 56kbps is a load of crap. First of all, neither standard has lived up to its claims, and have yet to break 50kbps, let alone 56kbps. Second of all, anything short of a T1 line is absolutely pathetic and hardly worth GIVING away. Lastly, it all comes down to SPEED...most people with any common sense realize that paying an extra $20/month for cable modem access at 9Mbps, with the capability of 1Mb per 10 second downloads and "instant-on" Net access, and realtime video/audio with channel-flipping ease, is the way to go. If you are loathe to cough up a measly $20 more bucks for these features, then you are either so hard on money you shouldn't be investing, or you are a fool who is falling for this 56Kbps propaganda and underperforming technology that will be obsolete within 18 months of the new standard.

As for me, I'm signing up for TCI cable modem access that is currently expanding in my area, with free installation and a mere $40/month for the cable modem rental and ISP access. I believe TCI is working with @Home on this expansion in central Florida. I'll see all you 56Kbps turtles in my rear-view! LOL!!

Style Pts.
