I enjoy lurking this thread but seldom post here. That being said, I'll do a quick OT response.
Do you have any idea what that EPA thing is all about, Lizzie? Have people in CA gone completely insane? That CO2 emission thing has nothing to do with pollution.
What's coming out of the tailpipes of new cars is so clean that you could damn near stick your nose up one for a breath of fresh air. It's CO2 that they're after now, an odorless, colorless, benign gas that's an essential part of the atmosphere and without which, there would be no life on earth.
What strict reductions in CO2 vehicle emissions means in reality, is that all you wealthy SV greenies can kiss your new Lexus and BMW and Mercedes goodbye. Enjoy driving your new Prius, because that's about all you'll be left with. Although one of these years, maybe they'll finally get that $100K Tesla on the road.
The larger the engine, the more CO2 that's produced, and, unlike real pollution, there's no way to capture it on a vehicle. I wish the EPA had let CA go ahead with it. The only way you'll learn the consequences of stupidity is to suffer the consequences.
Anyway, with all the new taxes you'll have to pay to cover your latest $14,000,000,000 "emergency budget deficit", you may want to keep your current wheels for a while. Curse Bush all you want. He's far from perfect, for sure. But he, along with the GOP minority in Congress, is all that's keeping you greenies from screwing yourselves... |
