john,

this is a follow-up to my question. i'm thinking of started a thread on "The Best Investments Ideas on SI." it would be based on actual percentage gains and how well the method works in an up, down, and sideways market. i have a few specific questions. please bear with me.

1) What annual % gains are you making? does this include margin and if so, how much?

2) how has your method performed in up, down, sideways markets? is it a lower risk or high risk strategy in a bear market? what is the downside risk? specifically, how did you do in oct 87, 1990, 1994?

3) is this a growth, value, momentum, etc. strategy?

4) what are your typical holding periods - one year, 6 mo's, 3 days? do you set sell limits on your stocks when they hit a certain target?

5) can your strategy apply to options, assuming a pick of yours had options available? how far out would you purchase the options/leaps - 6 mo's, one year, two years?

6) do you advocate cutting your loses? when, if a stock goes down, would you consider selling? do you have sell stops?

7) how long have you been doing this?

thanks for you answers ahead of time.

regards,
vol
