Off topic to Sig: Sig, I found your strategy for buying small amts of stock on the way up interesting (and good.) Not sure if I agree with the sell if it drops 12%. I would look at the technical picture, especially since I often seem to buy a stock when it is running up (and then it falls back of course.) If the stock breaks important support I will sell it. Trying to force myself to wait for a pullback -- makes much more sense. Here's my question for you: do you have a strategy for selling when you have significant profits in a stock. If you are trading options, this is maybe not an issue, but I find I so dislike paying cap gains my decision making on when to sell is impacted. Two examples you can relate to I'm sure. I sold dell last year followng a nice run up then bought back in when it kept on going up. Glad I bought back in because nice run since then and all looks rosy. But here's another. Held on to JBIL although I knew the PE was high and today it tanked. Think it will come back though. Short term capacity constraint. Should I have sold? Still don't know. Now, I don't have to pay tax, do I, but stock has dropped about 12 points in 2 days. I see JBIL on your list of fav stocks. Are you still in? thx for any thoughts. Have you traded stocks for long?
