How... $33 a GIG? is certainly the 64 thousand dollar question. Once upon a time, didn't Syquest somehow "recycle" partially defective platters for use in their cartridges? Something like... using one good side of a disk that was rejected, and was originally intended for use in a fixed drive. They could buy 'em for a song. I'm really tapping some old brain cells here. Any fellow old-timers here recall the details of what I'm referring to?
