"BOTH terms are pejorative." "Swindler" and "greedy person" are both pejorative too. That doesn't make them comparable. "If you have trouble with dictionaries, they are meant to 'belittle' the other side's view." I have no trouble with dictionaries, and I'm not claiming that either term is polite. I'm merely pointing out that accusing someone of being dishonest is not comparable to accusing someone of being relentlessly negative.
