You seem to indicate, that obesity is a positive thing. I assume that's not your opinion, otherwise you should try to talk to serious doctors about the health implications of obesity and inactivity.

Health care is currently 15% of the U.S. economy, and the productivity deficit is not included.

A 6 feet 220 pound obese worker is simply not as productive as a normal weight 6 feet 162 pound worker - this includes office work. The productivity reduction is both a reduction of productivity during normal work, and absence.

Obesity is a serious tax on the economy, and it's not easy to get rid of.
