Ray Smith writes: The obesity is a result of an abundance of food and the diminishing need to labor.
While that may be somewhat true, the largest contributor to obesity anywhere on the planet, and mostly discussed in thin obsessed USA is due to 40+ years of HYDROGENATED FAT in processed food, as well as poor dietary practices in the first place.
Fat People ARE productive people. Fat people DO know the association between labor and weight. Fat people DON'T all sit at desks and "manage." And to a woman, we AMERICAN women resent in particular, white American males--or ANY MALE of any color-- telling us to get off our duffs--and get fit.... between the carpools, laundry, PTA mtgs, Jobs, Dr. Appointments, menstrual cycles to and thru menopause, housecleaning, and the endless meal preparation chores... ...to "work out more."
However, western society's health watchdogs finally uncovered the darned stubborn introduction of hydrogenated or TRANS-FATS and connected it to the observable obesity over 40 yrs ago.
Now, if the same bozo's who thunk up hydrogenated/trans-fats would come up with the magic bullet to targeted burning of the spare-tire and hip/thigh pads' fat storage compartments on the human torso, you would find grateful American women, en masse, in particular, carting to the curb "thru-put" from grateful hydrogentated flushing, by the dumpstersful!!!
How tall, how old, how sedentary, how much do you weigh, Ray? And, what is YOUR BMI?
